Sorry about the yellow faces... but no more sneak peeks!  You'll have to come out on 3.21.10!!

Hey hey hey!  More Updates!!!  I'm blessed to see a new age bracket (30) for about a month now!!  I've got a new assistant, Ericka Morton, who is fabulous! The last model rehearsal went so wonderfully!  A Top-Level financial sponsor came through last week!  The flyers are Beautiful!  We have a full staff and All rehearsing participants!  We have just about all of the materials for Every aspect of the event! Press is pouring through!  So far, I'm SO proud of all of the hard work--including my one stunt of working for 3 literal days straight--invested by everyone into this production!   I'm doing all I can to make sure this event is FLAWLESS!  Everyone is contributing 100%  Things are going well!  But don't think it's been a bed of roses the entire time...

Two weeks ago I canvassed businesses getting nothing more than NO's.  The budget had to be revised, and after all of the NO's, things looked completely hopeless.  I wondered if my planned-since-last-October-Event was going to have to be canceled.  Help was scarce, only two people showed up at initial auditions, models couldn't make it to rehearsal, we ran out of everything, from pricey printer ink and invitations to gas!  (Everything is being done IN-HOUSE except for over-sized items like the poster & photo backdrop!!!)

I've learned, and it's being reinforced, that if you do ALL you can, and take my dad's advice:  "You're gonna have to turn over EVERY leaf!" things just fall into place eventually.  Much of my hard work that seemed fruitless led to rays of hope that I didn't even see or consider!  Of course prayer makes all the difference as well, and boy have we been throwing them up there!!

Yes, Diligence pays!  Maybe not the week you ask for it, and maybe not from the source you expected, but someone is always watching & willing to help sometimes after seeing how serious you really are!  Go Diligence Go!!!

It hasn't quite fully sunk in yet.  The man who seemed immortal is no longer with us.  But his humanitarian efforts through song & action will be remembered--especially by me.  I always TRY to help or heal, empower, enlighten or educate through my art.  In all forms of art there is a message to be shared, but the content of the message will determine how you impact the world.  Michael Jackson, a creative force to be reckoned with, was always true to himself, despite the nasty tabloids & heartless media.  From writing about his pet mouse to pleading with the media to be left alone, he did MJ without apology.  That is what I admire the most aside from his positive messages about Michael...

I'll never forget listening to "Man In The Mirror" on "repeat" on my big black tape cassette player...by mashing down the rewind button relentlessly trying to find the beginning of the song again.  As a child of the '80's, I didn't care or mind at all!  Maybe we care too much of what others think.  Maybe we don't care enough.  Maybe he was trying to get us to do just that... Care.  Well I do, and so I have created a video tribute that may be viewed on the video page.  I did misspell his name on the glove, but my intentions were checked!

Even better, a percentage of ALL sales will go towards young artists of ALL forms (music, art, dance, poetry, fashion, film, computer arts & graphic design, culinary arts and visual arts!).  As an art student, I always struggled with trying to come up with getting art supplies (very, very expensive at times--$20 for just ONE tube of high quality paint!) after tuition was taken care of.  I borrowed, shared, and would get VERY creatively resourceful (no, I never had to paint with ketchup!), so I know what the challenges are like.  I want to give back, because let's face it--the youth are OUR future, not just mine.  The next era of Music, Movies, Cartoons, Books, Art, Fashion & more are in development RIGHT NOW!  And these are aspects that we ALL utilize, so why not help our own who are trying to do right.  Let's reward those who are trying to dream big & do great things instead of waste our tax dollars in prisons with a lil' help!  Changing the world starts with small decisions that lead to a Great impact!  Let's Do It!
